In a novel reworked after a self-published debut, Gurley (Deep Breath Hold Tight, , etc.) follows the lives of identical twins Eleanor and Esmerelda as they struggle through a reality that is shaped and reshaped by tragedy and mysterious, otherworldly events. Jason Gurley took thirteen years to write Elanor and about half-way through my first reading I understood why. This magnificent tale may have taken over a decade to be ready for print but it is the kind of story that is as timeless as its main character. I've written a few books, such as Awake in the World and Eleanor. I also write a newsletter, Letters from Hill House, about life and work.
